My father, John M. Carah was a member of the Class 43B at Lemoore after completing Primary at King City. He was a native of Chico, California. He went on to Douglas AAF in Arizona for Advanced multi-engine training. He flew B-17's with the 381st BG during WW-II and was shot down on 4 Jul 1943 over Normandy, France. He successfully evaded to Switzerland and eventually returned to the U.S. where he was a member of the ATC Ferry Command. He was a career officer retiring in 1966 as a Lt. Col. It is Col. Carah's 43B Class book that is linked by the museum. Cadet Carah was the editor of his class book.
